  1. (Evaluate family engagement efforts and use evaluations for continuous improvement: surveys, benchmarking). Convene an annual meeting at a time convenient for parents of participating children. All parents shall be invited and encouraged to attend. The school will provide information and explain the requirements of Title 1 and the rights of parents. The meeting will be held on August 10th and 12th from 5:30-7:30pm.

  1. (Facilitate family-to-family support: Round-up) Offer a flexible number of meetings and may provide with Title 1 funds, transportation, child care, or home visits, as such services are related to family engagement. Archer City Elementary/Middle School will have the following family engagement activities: Meet The Teacher Night, Report Card Day, Fall Carnival, Spring Fling, Field Trips, Field Day, etc. Some events may be on a rotating basis.

  1. (Increase family participation in decision-making) Involve parents in an organized, ongoing, and timely manner, in the planning, review, and improvement of Title 1 programs. This should include the planning, review, and improvement of the school parental involvement policy, as well as the joint development of the school-wide improvement plan. Parents may participate by attending meetings, offering suggestions, offering assistance, etc.

  1. (Establish a network of community resources: social media/website call-outs, weekly newsletters through Home Connection) Provide parents of participating children with:

  • Timely information about Title 1 programs.

  • Description and explanation of the curriculum at the school, the forms of academic assessment used to measure student progress, and the proficiency levels students are expected to meet.

  • Opportunities for regular meetings to formulate suggestions and to participate, as appropriate, in decisions relating to the education of their children.

  • Equip families with tools to enhance and extend learning

  • Develop staff skills in evidence-based practices that support families in meeting their children’s learning benchmarks
