The following guidelines have been set for the Archer County SWCD Scholarship
Application process:
- The student must be a graduating senior that attends high school in Archer County.
- The student must have at least a “B” average.
- The student must be attending a 2-year or 4-year college with a major in agriculture or agriculture related industry or a 2-year technical school.
- The student must show proof of acceptance and enrollment in a 2-year or 4-year college or 2-year technical school. If chosen, the Archer County SWCD will distribute a check made out to the college of attendance on the behalf of the student.
- The student must include a high school transcript.
- All applicants must submit a biography on themselves, where they attend high school, academic/extracurricular activities, honors, and prospected major.
- The student must write an essay on the subject:
“What is the Importance of Conserving Natural Resources”. (500 words or less)
- Please include a phone number so we can contact you in the event you are chosen by the board.
The student that has met the guidelines and chosen by the board will be awarded in the amount of:
2-year enrollment- $500.00
4-year enrollment- $1000.00
Entries will be accepted until May 1, 2026
Applications will be accepted by mail or dropped off at the USDA office in Archer City.
